Slideshow-Widget: Your own slide show from product pictures

The Slideshow widget lets you make a stylish slideshow from the images of products in the Amazon catalogue. Pick your favourite books, movie or CD covers, or show your toaster and your toothbrush. The animation of the slide show enables you to show a huge number of products in the narrowest of spaces on your webpage.

You can also comment on all the products illustrated in a Slideshow and share your opinion or expert knowledge on them. Tell them you loved it, tell them you hated it, just tell them! You can use this comment feature to personalise your widget.

Here are some examples of the Slideshow-Widgets:

Example 1: Football Shirt parade (size 336x280, picture dropping: bouncing, at middle speed)

Example 2: LonelyPlanet travel companions (Quantity 430x324, picture transition: zoom in, with medium speed)

There are other horizontal and vertical formats for you to select, this will determine how your slide show is presented and this is done by using the link generator. The link generator offers you varied possibilities to adapt the Slideshow to your requirements.

How do I make my own Slideshow?

The production of a Slideshow is complete in two intuitive steps:

• Step 1: In the first step you select the products which you would like to feature in your Slideshow and if you wish, comment on them.

• Step 2: Set the size, animation effects and the colour of the Widget

• Step 3: Insert the code of the Widget we provide in your website. Now from now on you’ll have your very own product slide show with your personal comments on your webpage.

Do you have the Amazon.co.uk Slideshow Widget application already in use? Why not introduce it to other partners and comment on the entry. Or you can construction your own Product Slideshow now.

Product Cloud Widget: contextually relevant products presented as a product cloud!

With the Product Cloud Widget, we parse the content of your webpage and we identify the relevant keywords and phrases. From these phrases, we develop a list of Amazon products that match the content of your site. The better a product matches your site, the larger and bolder the title is displayed.

When first installed, the widget will return best selling Amazon products. After a few minutes, once the widget has learnt the context of your webpage, you’ll start to see contextually relevant products. If we fail to find relevant products in our catalog, we will continue to show best selling products. Examples below…

As with all of our widgets, customizing the look-and-feel is easy and can be done through the user interface shown here:

Productcloud_3

You can select your desired widget size, colour and font with a few easy clicks. Once the widget is customized to your satisfaction, click “add to my webpage” and copy and paste the code we supply on to your website.

Amazon.co.uk Widgets - Available Now

Amazon Widgets are a series of small, visually dynamic and easily configurable widgets that feature products from Amazon on blogs, websites and social networking pages.
In as little as one minute, users can populate a widget with their favorite Amazon products and their comments about those products, and select from a set of color and layout themes to match both their mood and website. The simple-to-use web interface for building and implementing a widget can be found at: http://widgets.amazon.co.uk

As of today 6 new Widgets are available for you to use, with further Widgets launching in the near future. Each day for the next few days on the Amazon.co.uk Associate Blog we will be featuring one of the widgets and highlighting its functionality in detail. Here is an overview of the widgets: http://widgets.amazon.co.uk

  • Slideshow: Pick favorite images from the Amazon catalog and present them as a stylish slideshow.  Showcase favorite CD cover art, present recently read books, or even reveal favorite breakfast cereals. Slideshow also lets users caption the selected images.  See an example of Slideshow at http://obscuresound.com/.

  • My Favorites: Express yourself by recommending and commenting on favorite products from Amazon. This widget lets everyone know how you feel and what you like by showing product images, information and your own comments.  Lori is showcasing her favorites at http://www.austenquotes.com with her "Books by Jane," "Books about Jane," and "Austen Movies" widgets.

  • Product Cloud: Take tag clouds or word clusters one step further by showing Product Clouds. Product Clouds engage site visitors by displaying product titles that are relevant to the content of the page in a cloud or cluster with the most popular product bolded. Site visitors can click on the title to directly visit the product page on Amazon.  See an example of Product Cloud on the Geeking with Greg blog at http://glinden.blogspot.com.

Amazon Widgets are free to use. Users have the option to make money with their Amazon Widgets by joining the Amazon Associates program and when a visitor to their site clicks through their Amazon Widget to the applicable Amazon website and makes a purchase, they may earn up to 10 percent in referral fees from Amazon.
