The lack of integration between Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk et cetera is major flaw in Amazon's approach. It's as if Amazon never realised the internet is international. One link to Amazon should work for customers wherever in the world they are.

There are several services such as HostIP.Info, ip2location.com or maxmind.com that you can use with your favourite server side scripting language to automatically switch to the "closest" site dependant on your visitors IP addresses.
