Greetings,
We are pleased to announce the new Associates Link Checker:
Link Checker
The Link Checker tool helps you check your links to ensure that they
link to the page that you expect them to, and that they tag your link
with your Associate ID or one of your Tracking IDs. Your links must
correctly tag to your Associate ID or one of your Tracking IDs in order
for you to earn referrals.
Note: You need to be signed in to Associate Central to use this
tool. For privacy purposes, the tool will only test the tagging of
links against the Associate ID or Tracking IDs of the currently logged
in account.
The Link Checker checks the tagging for a URL linking to Amazon.co.uk.
This tool is intended primarily for people constructing or modifying
their own Associate links to Amazon.co.uk. Using the Build Links/Widgets
tools when signed in to Associate Central should produce correctly
tagging links and widgets.
The Link Checker does NOT check the tagging for our served links such
as Omakase or Recommended Product Links. It also does NOT check the
tagging for Widgets. For served links and widgets, our Associate
Central Build Links/Widgets tools will automatically include the
Associate ID or Tracking ID that you have selected when you are logged
in to Associate Central while building the link or widget.
However for accurate tracking, reporting and fee accrual, you
must ensure that the links between your site and the Amazon.co.uk site
are properly formatted.
The process for checking your link URLs is a two step process:
1. Enter your link URL into the field and click the 'Load Link' button.
2. After you see the correct page load in the
frame, click the 'Check Link' button below the loaded page to check
that the link is tagged to your Associates ID or one of your Tracking
IDs.
What do the Link Checker responses mean?
The Link Checker is designed to confirm whether a link tags to your Associate ID or one of your Tracking IDs.
After you have loaded the URL and clicked the Check Link button, you will get one of the following responses:
- Success: The link tags to a valid tag or sub-tag for your Associate ID.
This means your link is tagging correctly to your account.
- Fail: The link does not correctly tag for your Account.
This
means the tag in the URL is not the Associate ID or Tracking ID for the
currently logged in account. You will need to check the tag in the URL.
To see your list of Tracking IDs or to create new ones, click the manage link beside Tracking ID in the blue sign-in and status box in the top left corner of the page.
Best regards,
Your Amazon.co.uk Associates Team
